DC residents who happen to be small business owners have a new tool in their arsenal when it comes to funding the growth of their small business: The DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBC)!

The DSLBC has opened a Phase 0 funding opportunity to help DC area qualifying businesses #applyforfunding in the form of federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR). These programs were created by the federal government to foster and enable technological innovations while simultaneously giving small businesses an opportunity to grow.

Phase “Zero” Program

The DSLBC Phase 0 program offers an evaluation of your small business technology idea in terms of commercialization potential. If the DSLBC finds evidence that your SBIR/SBTT proposal is a good candidate to be awarded funding, the DSLBC will help guide you through the creation and submittal of your proposal. Successful proposals will be granted nondilutive government funding in the form of Phase I and Phase II SBIR/SBTT grants to perform research and development (R&D) on your technology innovation.

Never heard of Phase 0 before? Perhaps you are a good candidate for a consulting agency.  When your water pipes leak, you call a plumber, right? When you need to learn every possible avenue to obtain #nondilutivefunding for your small business, the proper professional to call is a consultant. E. B. Howard Consulting maintains an expansive list of funding opportunities and would be happy to give you an #evaluation of your small business commercialization potential and guide you toward your best options for #funding.
