We recently had a chance to meet with Kathy Hochul Lieutenant Governor of New York Monday, October 3, 2016.  Kathy spoke with members of both the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and NAWBO Buffalo-Niagara for almost 90 minutes about the strides women have made in the world of business and what still needs to be accomplished. She also noted that women entrepreneurs have a responsibility to those who are just beginning their careers to mentor, sponsor, and act as role models for those who will follow in our footsteps, whether they be our daughters, students, employees, or otherwise.

The newest funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) for the coming fiscal year were released this past Friday, so they're hot off the press. Look for PA-16-302 and PA-16-303. In this 2016 EDA round, a total of $15 million in Federal funding is available to create and expand cluster-focused proof-of-concept and commercialization programs and early-stage seed capital funds through the i6 Challenge and the Seed Fund Support (SFS) Grant competition, respectively.  Under this FFO, $13 million is available for i6 Challenge grants and $2 million is available for SFS grants.
