CT Next, Connecticut’s innovation ecosystem

  • September 20, 2019

CT Next is a unique organization dedicated to increasing the participation of Connecticut based firms in federal technology-based grant opportunities. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Acceleration and Commercialization program are designed to inspire and assist more small businesses in competing to receive SBIR allocations. These programs offer #nondilutitiveFunding to businesses looking to advance or commercialize a technological idea or product, or a new use for an already existing technology. CT Next even offers free reviews and feedback of completed proposals and select companies may be eligible for a reimbursement fee for their travel and participation in SBIR conferences.

To learn more about the SBIR program, visit this website and take a tutorial. CT Next also hosts a range of events. The next event scheduled to take place is The next Entrepreneur Innovation Awards (EIA) which will be held at Bridgeport’s Bijou Theater on October 3rd, 2019. CT Next offers a mentoring network, information on obtaining the Angel Tax Credit, a Higher Education Initiative, and a searchable Partner Network.

CT Next has plenty of options for education and funding, both dilutive forms (angel investors, venture capital firms, partnerships) and non-dilutive forms (those that require no equity from the company in exchange for funds) such as SBIR and SBTT grants funded by the federal government. CT Next is interested in exposing small businesses and entrepreneurs to information about the SBIR/STTR funding available for early-stage technology startups. CT Next is the state of Connecticut’s host of the SBA’s Federal and State Technology Partnership Program (FAST).

We work with high-growth startups and organizations that support the startup and innovation ecosystem. We build highly specific non-dilutive funding menus, provide proposal preparation services, and measure outcomes of funding through evaluation. Schedule a consult call with us HERE.
