COVID-19 is not over, and neither is the influx of related funding.

  • October 23, 2020

When COVID-19 first became a part of our everyday lives, there was an outpouring of support from federal, state, and local governments as well as private foundations. These opportunities were meant to keep small businesses and individuals afloat while we all navigated the “new normal.” We thought the pandemic would be over in a matter of weeks. Unfortunately, that estimation was over-ambitious, and we find ourselves in much the same scenario seven months later. Fortunately, while less publicized than they were initially, these opportunities to obtain assistance are as numerous as ever.

New Opportunities

While many of the first COVID-19 small business assistance grant windows have expired, additional rounds, as well as all-new opportunities have emerged in their place. The federal government is still announcing new opportunities for research across many of the 11 federal agencies and counties, cities, and townships are using their CARES Act funding to help small businesses at the local level. Foundations are also getting in on the action by offering grants to small businesses, often those that need it most, such as microbusinesses and women/minority-owned businesses.

How To Locate COVID-19 Funding

Great news, if you are a member of the free Startup Fund Hub COVID-19 database, you don’t have to! Our team scours the web for up-to-the-minute information on all things funding, including COVID-19-related opportunities. We keep our database updated with the latest private, local, and federal opportunities, so all you have to do is log in. While other databases exist, they do not offer the depth and scope of Startup Fund Hub. To date, we have over 630 opportunities in our database, and opportunities are added on a near-daily basis.

The unfortunate news is it appears COVID-19 is here to stay. But there is a silver lining. Humanity has joined together, and folks everywhere are doing their best to keep everyone safe and keep some semblance of “normality.” Funding opportunities offered by government and private entities to help small businesses are here to stay as well, and we are committed to sharing them with you for as long as this pandemic lasts.
