The NSF #SBIR proposal (National Science Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program)- also known as America’s Seed Fund powered by #NSF – provides small businesses with equity-free funding to conduct research and development (R&D) work that will lead to the commercialization of innovative new products and services. The NSF #SBIR program seeks innovative proposals that show promise of commercial and societal impact. NSF #SBIR invites the submission of proposals in almost any area of science and technology (more information on our technical topics is available here).

Registration Requirements

SAM Registration: To start your proposal, you MUST register to do business with the U.S. government through System for Award Management (SAM). The registration process is free but can take one month (or more) to complete. Read SAM’s FAQs to learn more.

Registration – Research.gov & FastLane: Once you have your SAM registration number, you can register your account in Research.gov and head to FastLane to submit your proposal. Read more about the new account management process on Research.gov.
