We just ran into this. The deadline is this Friday (March 2), but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your application in…DO IT.
Lumina Foundation is an independent, private foundation in Indianapolis that is committed to making opportunities for learning beyond high school available to all. Their goal is to prepare people for informed citizenship and for success in a global economy.
At Lumina, they envision a system that is easy to navigate, delivers fair results, and meets the nation’s need for talent through abroad range of credentials. The nation will need 60 percent of working-age people to have college degrees, workforce certificates or other quality credentials by 2025 to meet social and economic demands. To help 16.4 million Americans who are not yet on track, dramatic changes are necessary.
The Lumina Foundation Education Innovation Prize is aimed at identifying innovations that will help us reach this goal, presenting them to a gathering of education funders, investors, and practitioners, and awarding the top innovators with cash prizes and in-kind support.
Challenge participants will be asked to consider the following question. ‘How might we develop a cost-effective, rapidly scalable platform, service, or product that can help U.S. adults with little to no college experience earn degrees, certificates, and other high-quality credentials by the year 2025?’
